Each unit of study has a guiding question that provides the student a focus for “doing” history. Students will examine real evidence about important questions in history, then weigh that evidence against what they already know in order to reach an opinion. This process will help improve their thinking skills, learn to detect biases, weigh evidence, develop logical solutions, and express themselves in clear, thoughtful, and persuasive prose.
